Nothing Is Its Parallel
I don’t know, what I’d do without you,
all this time in the hospital got me feeling confused.
When you used to be here every single day…
now I just pray that each morning you will wake.
Because you saw me grow up, you were my ride or die
My best friend forever, someone I could call up anytime
Now I just sit here on our porch, wonderin what will happen
Now that you’ve finally let go after a life spent battlin
I always told you, “Fight the fight as hard you can!”
What I didn’t tell you, is that without you I’d be damned,
because you are my rock, my number one man –
even though I’ve grown up, I still need you to help me stand.
And you surrounded yourself with some very strong women,
who’d do anything for you just to be here one more day…
To all of them, you are the core of their engine,
and now they need you to tell them it’s all gonna be okay.
Just one more time say everything will be fine,
that the world will keep turning, that the sun will rise.
Tell them they will live on, even though you’re gone,
no matter how much it hurts, they will be alright.
Whisper these truths to them softly, believe not they are lies,
as you hate to see them go, you know one day they will shine.
Without you they will somehow carry on your life –
you will see the world through them, they will be your mortal eyes.
You took care of us, but it seems you forgot about yourself,
and all that time you spent on our tears, took a toll on your health.
The cost of so much selflessness is that we must all now go through Hell,
and these scars will surely fade, but only time will help…
because all the loving you gave - nothing is its parallel.
