Cynosure

It's a Thursday night time for me to go - to drop my pen and to leave what I have written at school and hit the road to home. So I pack up my bags and walk to my car Tonight I will travel under the stars. I pass the swaying palm trees crossing the beauty of Miami through the city and over the sea... but I have taken this drive circa a million and five times so when my eyes glaze over fatigue overtakes the land's cynosure and a blind chauffeur becomes of me. So I'm on autopilot all the way there and despite the blinding traffic lights nothing breaks my solemn stare. On that short yet long drive home the music plays but I don't hear the tune I feel so isolated and alone all I can think about is you. Because as I pass over the ocean on that 12 minute drive through the black something about the water makes me think about how much I want you back.
